Question 1

Why Masterly?

Accepted Answer

Our mission is to drive better outcomes for mature Australians, while improving value for customers. In our concept research, customers who had used a service in the last 12 months reported common frustrations: poor quality work, no-shows and a lack of trust. Most platforms optimise for speed and price in ways that quietly punish experienced providers. Masterly is built to prove that experience is an advantage. The same research found that 68% of customers chose a more experienced provider over a cheaper, less experienced one with the same rating, even at a price premium. Find out more here

Question 2

What will it cost me to join?

Accepted Answer

There is no cost to join. Masterly will charge fees, but we are still finalising pricing. We are working to land on something that is fair for Masters and sustainable for the platform.

Question 3

Will I be an employee?

Accepted Answer

No. Masterly is a platform that helps Customers hire Masters. You set your own price by submitting quotes, and you are not an employee, agent or partner of Masterly.

Question 4

How much of my time do I need to commit?

Accepted Answer

As much or as little as you want. You set your own availability, choose the jobs you take and set your own price. Some Masters will take on a job every week, others a few a year.

Question 5

Do I need to be certified or licensed?

Accepted Answer

No, Masterly does not require certification to join. That said, you should not take on work that legally requires a licence or certification you do not hold, just as you would not off the platform.

Question 6

When is Masterly launching?

Accepted Answer

Soon! We are aiming to launch this Summer. In the first week, we need Founding Masters to iron out any kinks on the platform, so as a reward we are offering 3 months commission and fee free.

Question 7

How do I get paid?

Accepted Answer

Customers pay upfront when they accept your quote, and the money is held securely until the job is marked complete. Funds are released to your account a few days after that, so you are not left chasing payment.

Question 8

Who are Masterly's customers?

Accepted Answer

Anyone looking for a trusted, experienced provider. There is no age requirement on the customer side, the 50+ requirement is for Masters only. If you know someone who might be interested, please send them a link.

Question 9

Do I need an ABN?

Accepted Answer

An ABN is requested but not required to sign up.

Question 10
