Masterly Privacy Policy

Last updated 11 September 2026

Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected by Masterly Marketplace Pty Ltd (ACN 697 498 669, ABN 97 697 498 669), trading as Masterly ("Masterly", "we", "us", "our"). By visiting masterlymarketplace.com, joining our waitlist, or engaging with our social media campaigns, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy.

In this policy, "Masters" means our sellers, people aged 50 and over who offer services, consulting, or handmade goods through Masterly, and "customers" means our buyers, the people who engage Masters for their skills and services.

Masterly is currently in a pre-launch, waitlist stage. We are not yet processing payments, verifying identities, or facilitating transactions between Masters and customers. This policy covers the information we collect during this stage.

We are committed to complying with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You can read more about your privacy rights at the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner's website, www.oaic.gov.au.

The personal information we collect

When you join our waitlist, respond to a social media campaign, or otherwise interact with Masterly, we may collect:

  • identity and contact information, such as your name, email address, and phone number
  • profile information, such as whether you are joining as a Master or a customer, your age or age bracket where relevant to our 50+ Master eligibility criteria, and your general location, such as suburb or postcode
  • content you give us directly, such as the services you're interested in, survey responses, or feedback
  • technical and device information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and general location inferred from your device or IP address
  • usage information, such as which pages you visit, how you interact with our site and ads, referral source, and the campaign, ad, or link that brought you to us
  • information collected through cookies, pixels, tags, and similar tracking technologies placed by us or by our marketing and analytics partners, as described in the Cookies and tracking technologies section below

We do not currently ask for or collect financial information, government ID numbers, or health information. If that changes as our product develops, we will update this policy before we collect it.

How we collect your information

We collect personal information:

  • directly from you, when you fill in a waitlist or sign-up form on masterlymarketplace.com or a linked landing page, or otherwise contact us
  • through social media platforms and advertising networks, where you click through an ad or campaign and submit your details to us, or where the platform passes campaign and interaction data back to us
  • automatically, through cookies, pixels, tags, and similar tracking technologies on our website and landing pages, operated by us or by our marketing, advertising, and analytics partners
  • through the platforms we use to run our marketing and manage our waitlist, such as our CRM and advertising and analytics tools

The specific tools we use to do this will change as our marketing activity grows. As at the date of this policy, this includes Google Analytics and Google Ads, and HubSpot as our CRM and forms platform. We may also use social media advertising and tracking tools, such as the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, TikTok Pixel, or similar tools from other platforms, as our campaigns expand. Any such tool operates within the categories of information and the purposes described in this policy.

Why we collect, hold, use and disclose your information

We use your personal information to:

  • manage our waitlist and let you know when Masterly launches
  • understand demand and improve our product before launch, including which features and categories people are most interested in
  • send you updates, newsletters, and marketing communications about Masterly
  • run, measure, and optimise our marketing and advertising campaigns, including which ads, platforms, and audiences perform best, and to show you relevant Masterly ads on social media and other platforms
  • respond to your questions or feedback
  • comply with our legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Who we disclose your information to

We may disclose your personal information to:

  • our CRM, email, and marketing platform providers, who store and process your information on our behalf, currently HubSpot
  • our analytics and advertising partners, who help us understand site traffic and measure and target our campaigns, currently Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads), and potentially other advertising platforms such as Meta, LinkedIn, or TikTok as our marketing expands
  • our professional advisors, where needed to get advice about our obligations to you
  • government or regulatory bodies, where required or authorised by law

We do not otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. If we start working with a materially different category of provider, such as an SMS platform or a new advertising network, we'll keep this policy current to reflect that.

Cookies and tracking technologies

Our website and landing pages use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies. These are currently operated by Google (Analytics and Ads) and HubSpot, and may in future include social media tools such as the Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or TikTok Pixel. These technologies help us understand site traffic, measure and improve our advertising campaigns, remember your waitlist form details, and show you relevant Masterly ads when you use social media or other websites.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser or device settings, and where a platform offers its own ad-preference controls, such as Meta's Ad Preferences, you can use those too. Disabling cookies may affect how our site, forms, and ads work for you.

Storage and overseas disclosure

Your information is currently held in HubSpot. HubSpot is a US-headquartered company and may store or process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. Google Analytics and Google Ads may also process data outside Australia, and other advertising or analytics platforms we adopt in future, such as Meta or LinkedIn, are also likely to store or process data overseas, including in the United States. Where your information is handled by these providers, we take reasonable steps to ensure it's protected in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, but we cannot guarantee that overseas recipients won't handle it differently to an Australian entity.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold, including relying on the security measures built into the platforms we use. No method of storing or transmitting data online is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security of information sent to us or stored by our providers.

Access, correction, and unsubscribing

You can ask us to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to remove you from our waitlist and marketing communications, at any time. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. To make any other request, contact us using the details below.

Data retention

We'll hold your information for as long as you remain on our waitlist or as needed for the purposes described in this policy, and delete or de-identify it once it's no longer needed, unless we're required to keep it for legal reasons.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about how we've handled your personal information, contact us using the details below. We'll aim to respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can raise your complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our product and marketing practices develop. We'll post any changes on this page, and encourage you to check back periodically.
